BIO
I grew up on a chicken farm that had no chickens. In 5th grade, I remember digging up large bones behind a shed; I took them into class and told everyone they were dinosaur bones. The teacher told everyone they were cow bones...my five minutes of fame was shattered. When I was 12, I found 2 beetles curiously attached back to back-- I had no idea they were "engaged."
With such a varied background I was immediately accepted into college, graduated with a BFA in Advertising Art, got married, and stayed married... happily ever after. Oh yeah, let’s not forget bragging rights for two talented kids.
I once was employed like a regular person in an art studio as both an illustrator and graphic designer, but these days I work freelance at home in a studio with a borrowed dog and a cat close by. Life continues to be great. Years of experience in illustration is a good thing...

I’m trained to produce illustrations on demand within stringent deadlines in the confines of a limited space under the watchful eyes of art directors and/or editors...and make it and them look good.. It’s what I do.
The bulk of my artwork is commissioned by major publishers and ad agencies - some global, some local, and a lot in between. The subject matter encompasses children's books, editorial, and consumer based illustrations.
During my time off, I paint... for myself. My illustrative approach tends to overlap into these paintings which are mainly story-based.
Some of the fine art is for sale, some has already left the premises. Sizes, prices, and other details will be furnished when requested through email. |
